The general Colombian pension system. A diagnosis in context
Abstract
For recent 25 years Colombian Pension System-CPS reforms have been proposed focused on financial and fiscal issues; repeating adjustments of parameters, conditions and benefits of regimes. They do not seriously address aspects of de labor market, income of the contributing population, equity, life conditions of de people. Neither the financial benefits of the intermediary companies of insurance, its negative impact on the contributors’ savings. These second aspects are the scope of analysis of this paper. A holistic exercise is done with recent information from different sources, and a descriptive method of functional relationships of the CPS regimes. The inoperativeness of the fishery system is concluded if no actions are taken on the labor market.
